Maya is a junior studying public policy with a certificate in policy journalism and a minor in environmental science. She hopes to pursue a career as a working journalist before returning to graduate or law school and becoming a professor one day.

  • Going to see Saint Motel in concert with my friends (and watching the 2020 away Carolina game on our phones – two buzzer beaters and a W!) 

  • Walking on the beach and collecting seashells 

  • Going to basketball games and playing in the band(the 2020 Carolina game before lockdown was PEAK) 

  • Traveling with the band to a bowl game and the NCAA tournament

• How much I've grown since freshman year • My ability to talk through my emotions • The way I communicate with people I love and care about • I took up running during quarantine, and I've gone from running 2-4 miles at 9:30 pace to running 4-7 miles at sub-8:30 pace
